Thelmo Jose Garza, 85, of Roma, Texas passed away August 26, 2014 in Rio Grande City, Tx surrounded by his family.

Thelmo was born in Salineno, Texas to Patricio Garza and Refugia Gonzalez Garza on April 12, 1929.

Thelmo is preceded in death by his parents, Patricio and Refugia; his wife Angelica, grandson Heraldo Garza, Jr.; his sisters Herminia Gamez, Otila Salinas, Blanca Garza, Encarnacion Pena; and his brothers Hector, Rene and Alvaro Garza.

Thelmo is survived by his two sons, Heraldo (Leticia) and Jose Luis (Alma) Garza of Roma; and two daughters, Arabela (Eulalio) Augilar and San Juanita Ramirez; ten grandchildren, Bernice Annette Garza, Leticia Guadalupe (Ramon) Galvan, Clotilde (Roel) Benitez, Luis Alberto Garza, Andrea Victoria Garza, Eulalio Augilar, Iris Guerra, Raul Augilar, Armando and Roberto Gonzalez; numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, with a rosary at 7 PM at Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home in Roma. Visitation will resume at 9 AM today, Aug. 28, 2014, at Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home in Roma. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Refuge Church in Roma, Texas today, Thursday, August 27, 2014, at 2:30 PM. Burial will follow at The City of Roma Cemetery. Sanchez Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Starr County Memorial Hospital and Staff, Rio Grande City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Dr. Jose Vazquez for their support in his final days.
