Rosa R Garcia

Alto Bonito - Rosa R. Garcia, 94 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 11 th 2022.  Born to the
late Ruperto and Prudencia Rodriguez on August 30 th 1927, in Mathis, TX.  She was a beloved wife,
mother, sister, grandmother and friend.  She married her husband Jose in 1945 and over 61 years of
marriage were blessed to share a large and loving family.  She was a devout Catholic who attended Holy
Family Catholic Church in La Grulla, TX.  She was a great cook and baker, well known for her amazing
empanadas and pan de polvo.  She was the life of the party and never met a stranger.  She loved to
dance and enjoyed Conjunto music.  
 
Rosa is survived by her 5 sons and 1 daughter Noe (Blanca) Felix (Alicia), Eliberto (Janie), Eleazar (Dalia),
Elijio (Ana), Angelica (Arnulfo) Correa, her daughter in law Linda, sister Blanca Alicia, 21 grandchildren,
42 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, caregivers Manuelita and Chiquilin, and her beloved
pet Palomita. 
 
Rosa is proceeded in death by her husband Jose, son Rogelio, daughter baby Maria, daughters-in-laws
Edna and Graciela, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.  
 
Viewing will be held at Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City, TX on Friday July 15 th 2022, from 4PM
to 8PM with a Rosary at 6PM.  Viewing continues Saturday July 16 th 2022, from 8AM to 9:30AM with a
procession to Holy Family Catholic Church in La Grulla, TX where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
10AM followed by internment at Solis Cemetery in La Grulla, TX at 11AM.
