Romeo Ortiz Sr. 70, entered into the Glory of his eternal life with his loving family by his side, on Friday February 28, 2014, at Starr County Memorial Hospital.
He worked for the Rio Grande City school district for 28 years as a computer math teacher. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and son who will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his mother Jesusa P Ortiz and his wife Lydia G Ortiz.
Mr. Ortiz is survived by one brother, Rene (Maria Luisa) Ortiz of Sevilla, Spain, two sons Romeo (Lorena) Ortiz Jr., Rene (San Juanita) Ortiz of Rio Grande City, 3 daughters, Maricela (Jose Luis) Reyes of Rio Grande City. Maribel (Rudy) Saldivar of Brownsville, and Michelle (Erik) MuAˆoz of San Marcos; also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandkids.
Visitation will be held on Tues March 4, 2014 at Sanchez Funeral Home from 10a.m - 9p.m. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m
Funeral services will be held on Wed. March 5, 2014 at 3p.m at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rio Grande City Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Javier Margo Jr., nurses, EMS and staff at Starr County Memorial Hospital for all of their kindness and dedication to their beloved father. Funeral Services are under the direction of Sanchez Funeral Home of Rio Grande City, Texas.
