Rita G. Salinas

Rita G. Salinas (94) entered the arms of the lord, May 12, 2018 at Starr County Memorial Hospital in Rio Grande City, Texas. Born September 12, 1923, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Arcadio Salinas, Sr. and children: Sylvia Guadalupe Salinas, Maria Graciela Salinas Butler and Joel F. Salinas.

She is survived by her loving children and inlaws, Melba Salinas Lopez (Ruben C. Lopez), Arcadio Salinas, Jr. (Nellia Salinas), Mrs. Joel F. Salinas, Jaime H. Salinas (Minerva G. Salinas), Maria Sylvia Salinas Watson, Jesse H. Salinas; ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. 

A loving mother, dedicated wife and devoted Catholic--she was a resolute pillar in her family and sixty-five year marriage that was a prime example of strength, compassion and bountiful love. She will be greatly missed by all whom cherished her company.

The family, in great grief and gratitude, would like to take this moment to thank the providers at With Open Arms Health Care Inc., VIP Home Health Care Inc. as well as the physicians and medical staff who oversaw the wellbeing of our beloved mother, grandmother and dear friend.

The viewing started at Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City, Texas on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Viewing will continue today, Tuesday, May15, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery.
