Patricio Olivarez Jr.

Patricio Olivarez Jr (82) born August 17th, 1941, in El Sauz, TX, entered eternal life on January 30th, 2024.

Son of Patricio Olivarez and Dionicia Guerra. He graduated from Rio Grande City High School in 1961. He was drafted by the United States Army at age 25 and served in Vietnam from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1967. In 1969 he married Carolina Garza and later fathered a daughter Priscilla Corin Olivarez and a son Patricio Olivarez III. Patricio Jr dedicated his life to being an exceptional role model as a husband and a father. His favorite hobby when he wasn’t at baseball practice, band practice, or dance recitals was managing his family ranch. 

 As his family, we are deeply grateful for the time we spent with Dad, for the laughter we shared, and for the life lessons he passed on to us. He was a remarkable husband and father, and we will miss him dearly. As we part ways for now, we will honor him by living a life that reflects his values of love, compassion, and selflessness.  ~ We love you, Dad.

Patricio’s family will host a funeral service on Sunday, February 4th, 2024, at 1:00 pm. The service will be at Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City, TX.

February 5th, 2024, Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church from 10:30 - 11:30 am. Followed by a Burial ceremony at Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, TX, at 1:00 pm.
