Con gran pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de Oscar Salinas, de 76 años, de La
Grulla, Texas. Oscar fue un faro de amor en nuestras vidas, dejando una marca
indeleble en los corazones de todos los que lo conocieron.
Oscar nació el 13 de octubre de 1946 en Díaz Ordaz, Tamaulipas, hijo de Rogelio
Salinas y María de Jesús Elizondo. El 29 de enero de 1972, Oscar se casó con el amor
de su vida, Ovidia Garza, en La Grulla, Texas. Juntas, se embarcaron en un viaje de
amor y asociación, criando a sus queridas hijas, Deyanira Ozuna y Dania Guerra.
Como padre, Oscar fue un pilar de fortaleza y apoyo inquebrantable. Sus hijas
apreciaron los innumerables momentos de guía, risa y amor que él les brindó a lo largo
de sus vidas. Su amor y aliento perdurables los han convertido en las personas
extraordinarias que son hoy.
Como abuelo, Oscar fue una fuente de alegría y afecto para sus nietas, Delma J.,
Demizel J. y Danica Faith. Los colmó de historias de las aventuras de su vida y les
enseñó la importancia de la familia, la bondad y la perseverancia. Su sabiduría y
calidez resonarán para siempre en sus corazones.
La vida de Oscar fue un testimonio de trabajo duro y determinación. Trabajó
incansablemente como conductor de autobuses y camiones durante 30 años, sirviendo
con orgullo y compromiso en Noreste y Upper Valley Materials hasta su merecido retiro
en 1999.
Además de su trabajo y su familia, Oscar encontró alegría y satisfacción criando y
cuidando sus cabras.
La partida de Oscar deja un vacío que no se puede llenar, pero su memoria seguirá
brillando a través de las innumerables vidas que tocó. Su legado de amor, integridad y
resiliencia será transmitido por aquellos que tuvieron la suerte de conocerlo.
A Oscar le sobreviven su amada esposa, Ovidia, sus hijas Deyanira Ozuna (Ariel),
Dania Guerra (Roberto Carlos), sus nietas Delma J., Demizel J., Danica Faith. También
le sobreviven sus hermanos Elda Garcia (Pedro+), Yolando De La Cruz (Wilfrido),
Roger Salinas (Sylvia), Juan Angel Salinas (Nancy) , Mario Salinas (Dulce+), Isauro
Salinas (Socorro) y Aracely Villarreal (Isidro).
Mientras lamentamos la pérdida de un amado esposo, padre y abuelo, recordemos a
Oscar por el hombre extraordinario y amoroso que era.
Descansa en paz, querido Óscar. Te extrañaremos profundamente pero nunca te
olvidaremos.

Texas. Oscar was a beacon of love in our lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts
of all who knew him.
Oscar was born on October 13, 1946, in Diaz Ordaz, Tamaulipas, to Rogelio Salinas
and Maria de Jesus Elizondo. On January 29, 1972, Oscar married the love of his life,
Ovidia Garza, in La Grulla, Texas. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and
partnership, raising their cherished daughters, Deyanira Ozuna and Dania Guerra.
As a father, Oscar was a pillar of strength and unwavering support. His daughters
cherished the countless moments of guidance, laughter, and love he bestowed upon
them throughout their lives. His enduring love and encouragement have shaped them
into the remarkable individuals they are today.
As a grandfather, Oscar was a source of joy and affection to his granddaughters, Delma
J., Demizel J., and Danica Faith. He showered them with stories of his life's adventures
and taught them the importance of family, kindness, and perseverance. His wisdom and
warmth will forever resonate in their hearts.
Oscar's life was a testament to hard work and determination. He worked tirelessly as a
bus and truck driver for 30 years, serving with pride and commitment at Noreste and
Upper Valley Materials until his well-deserved retirement in 1999.
In addition to his work and family, Oscar found joy and fulfillment in raising and caring
for his goats.
Oscar's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will continue to
shine brightly through the countless lives he touched. His legacy of love, integrity, and
resilience will be carried forward by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Oscar is survived by his beloved wife, Olvidia, his daughters Deyanira Ozuna (Ariel) and
Dania Guerra (Roberto Carlos), and his granddaughters Delma J., Demizel J., and
Danica Faith. He is also survived by his siblings Elda Garcia (Pedro+), Yolanda De La
Cruz (Wilfrido), Rogelio Salinas (Sylvia), Juan Angel Salinas (Nancy), Mario Salinas
(Dulce +), Isauro Salinas (Socorro), and Aracely Villarreal (Isidro).
As we mourn the loss of a loving husband, father, and grandfather, let us remember
Oscar for the extraordinary, loving man he was.
Rest in peace, dear Oscar. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation scheduled for
Friday, September 22, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sanchez Funeral Home 301
East Second St., Rio Grande City, TX 78582, with a Rosary from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM,
and Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM, providing an opportunity
to offer prayers and support to the grieving family.
A Mass will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church,
107 PVT Lazaro Solis St. La Grulla, TX 78548, following interment at Ruben Solis
Cementary, La Grulla, TX 78548
