Natalia L. Garcia was born on July 9, 1945, to Justino and Andrea Luna. She had two brothers, Ismael and Roberto
Luna and two sisters, Micaela and Maria Luisa Luna Rodriguez. In her early years, she attended Immaculate Conception
School until 8th grade. She graduated from Rio Grande City High School in 1966 and continued her education where she received a full scholarship and acquired an associate’s degree in Cosmetology in San Juan, Texas. On December 26 th, 1970, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Juan Javier Garcia and they had
3 beautiful children Patricia Michelle (Vicente), Cecilia Marie (Ruben), and Juan Javier Jr., (Sandra). Natalia was a hard-
working individual, owning and operating her beauty salon. Growing up, Natalia spent her leisure
time gardening and picking oranges and lemons from her trees. She was very active and held two jobs at the same
time so that her children could attend Immaculate Conception School. Years later, Natalia began working for Adult
Protective services for many years then transitioned to the Texas Department of Child Protective Services, where she
loved helping out foster parents and children and assisted in toy drives and clothing donations for her foster
families. Natalia enjoyed going to the maquinitas and spending every minute attending BBQs with her children and
attending school functions with her grandchildren. Natalia gained her angel wings on Friday, March 15, 2024. She
was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She touched
many people’s lives and will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Rio Grande City - Natalia Luna Garcia, 78, died Friday, March 15, 2024, at The Bridges at Mission Assisted Living Care in Mission, TX. Sanchez Funeral Home of Rio Grande City will be in charge of funeral arrangements.
