Melissa Saldana

Melissa Saldana, 52, was called home to her Savior Jesus Christ on January 19, 2025, in Ascension Seton Hays in Kyle, Texas. She was born on August 29, 1972, in McAllen Texas to Rebecca Hedges (Alan) and David Daniel Saldaña (Diana) She is survived by her two children Ariana Ozuna and Alejandro Ozuna (Daniella) as well as her grandson Santiago Ozuna. Her siblings Ella Lou Perez (Alfonso) José David Saldaña (Mary Lou) Rodney Royder (Maricruz) David Daniel Saldaña Jr. (Justine) and Hiram Ramirez (Joanna). Melissa was a bilingual teacher for 22 years. She was devoted to teaching children in the utmost way. Many of her scholars have always remembered her for her willingness to help them achieve success. Along her journey she made many life long connections that brought her joy. Melissa will always be remembered for her perseverance, courage, and bravery. Her heart was full of love for her family. Pslam 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever”. A celebration of Melissa’s life will be held for family and friends with the visitation Friday, March 7th at Sanchez Funeral Home from 1:00-8:00 p.m.with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, internment will follow at the Rio Grande City Cemetery.
