Mary E. Macias

Mary E. Padilla Macias, 92, of Rio Grande City, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025. Born in Minneapolis, Kansas, on October 18, 1932, Mary was a woman of unwavering faith and enduring love. Throughout her life, she demonstrated profound resilience and strength, becoming a pillar of her community and an inspiration to her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her sons, Jesus Macias and Francisco Macias, and her husband, Francisco Macias Sr. She is survived by her loving children, Feliciano Macias (Glenda), Irene Gonzalez (Jose E.), and Nereida Villarreal (Marco). Her enduring spirit lives on through her extensive family, including 30 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will fondly remember her guidance and the strong values she instilled in them.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Mary E. Padilla Macias will be held at Sanchez Funeral Home, Rio Grande City, Texas. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Tuesday, February 11, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a religious service at 6:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Wednesday, February 12, from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a religious service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon at Maranatha Church, 5162 E Juarez Blvd, Rio Grande City, TX 78582. The procession will depart at 12:00 noon for her interment at Rio Grande City Cemetery.

Mary’s legacy of love, faith, and perseverance will forever be cherished and remembered by those who knew her. Her life was a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of faith.
