Dona Tile, as she was lovingly called, was born in Rancho Viejo, TX. She graduated from Roma High School in 1953. She later attended Pan-American University. She married the late Amando Pena, Sr. in 1954. Together they had five children.
Jointly, they complimented each other as prominent business and community leaders in Roma, TX. They formed numerous business ventures together. As the founder of C.R. Pena Enterprises and chairman of the board, she was as an active share holder in numerous other companies involving retail, land development, and ranching operations.
She was a long-standing member and served as office for the Pan-American Round Table Organization. As a life-long member of Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church, she served as a catechism teacher, was a generous donor for church fundraising activities, and charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. As a well-established entrepreneur, she was selected as Businesswoman of the Year in 2014 by the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Her most cherished honor was bestowed upon her by her community when selected as Parade Marshall of her beloved City of Roma in October of 2013. Clotilde was extremely proud of her roots that tied her to her community as a tenth-generation native resident in Roma.
Clotilde's passion for life included hobbies such as reading, writing memoirs, poetry, and traveling with her children. Her devotion to her family and most of all Christ, Our Savior, gave her courage throughout her fierce battle with cancer.
Sobre todo, Tile era una gran mujer, madre, y hija de dios.
