Escobares-Maria Velia Escobar of Escobares, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2012, in Austin, Texas. Maria Velia was born September 25, 1932 in Escobares. She was preceded in death by her parents, Santos and Paula S. Escobar, her sister, Raquel E. Garza, her brother, Rodolfo U. Escobar, and her niece, Delma G. Turner. She is survived by her brother, Roel R. Escobar (Delia), her sister, Norma E. Contreras (Felix), her sister-in-law, Evangelina E. Escobar, and her brother-in-law, Genaro Garza all of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She will be dearly missed by all.



Visitations will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home 101 AR Sanchez Sr. Dr. Roma, Texas. Holy mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Escobares, Texas. Interment will follow at Escobares Cemetery.
