In Loving Memory of Lourdes G Gonzalez
March 24, 1939 – March 3, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lourdes G Gonzalez, who left this world on March 3, 2025, surrounded by her family in her home in Roma, Texas. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and strength touched the lives of many, including working as a teacher’s aide for Roma ISD for 28 years.
Born on March 24, 1939, in Garceño, Texas, Lourdes lived a life full of love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was a source of endless wisdom and comfort, always putting others before herself. Her nurturing spirit, gentle guidance, and laughter will be deeply missed.
She leaves behind her children, Heraldo Gonzalez (Yvonne) from Roma, Texas, Rolando Gonzalez (Alicia) from Peñitas, Texas, Joel Gonzalez (Olivia) from Roma/Los Saenz, Noemi G Salinas (†Gabriel Salinas Jr.) from Roma /Los Saenz who will carry her love and lessons forward, as well as 9 adoring grandchildren. Jo Ann Gonzalez, † Heraldo Gonzalez Jr, Jessica Lynn Gonzalez Thompson, Lora Alyssa Gonzalez Eckerle, Carlos Gonzalez, Joelda Lee Gonzalez, Gabriel Salinas III, Randall Salinas, Janelle Nicole Gonzalez, and step-granddaughter Lynnette Lynn Salinas. In addition, 2 great-grandchildren Lionel Francis Eckerle and Karla Evie Gonzalez as well as her brother Tedraza Garza Jr. and sisters Flora Reyes and Socorro Mireles. She now rests in peace alongside her beloved spouse, Encarnacion Gonzalez, her cherished grandson, Heraldo Gonzalez Jr., her dear son-in-law, Gabriel Salinas Jr., as well as her loving sisters, Ana Maria Perez, Medelina Garcia, Magdalena Garza, and her devoted brothers, Lucidio Garza and Eduardo Garza.
A viewing at Sanchez Funeral Home in Roma will take place on Thursday, March 6 from 1:00 – 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 6 at 2:30 pm at The Holy Family Catholic Mission Church in Los Saenz, followed by burial at Los Saenz cemetery. The sacrifices that she made throughout her life to raise her children will forever be remembered.
"With love and honor, as pallbearers, her children and grandchildren will carry her to her final resting place as a testament to the strength, love, and legacy she has bestowed upon them."
Though she may no longer walk beside us, her love and light will remain in our hearts forever. Rest in Peace, dearest Lourdes G Gonzalez.
