Judge Ricardo Ignacio Pena

ROMA - Judge Ricardo Ignacio Peña was called home to the Lord. His earthly pilgrimage reach its end on Saturday, March 21, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones and peacefully slipped into his eternal rest.



Ricardo was born September 19, 1952, to Raul and Minerva Peña in Roma, Texas. He was a man of action and believed in taking leaps of faith. Judge Peña discovered his passion for serving his community and in 2006 was elected as Justice of the Peace of Escobares. He gained fulfillment in carrying out God's will for justice and fairness.



Ricardo joins his parents, Raul and Minerva, and sisters, Elsa Nora and Priscilla, in the Lord's kingdom. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Escobar, three caring daughters: Veronica (Hector) Montalvo, Elsa (David) Cruz, and Myra Peña, and five energetic grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Raul (Lucilla) Peña Jr., Maria Teresa (Jose Luis) Peña, and Marie Bernadette Peña.



The celebration of life viewing began Sunday and continues Monday, March 24, 2015, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Sanchez Funeral Home in Roma. Funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Sagrado Corazon Church in Escobares, TX. Following the mass, services will conclude.
