McALLEN a€" Jose Cruz Guerrero, 70, died April 29, 2014 at his home in McAllen. Jose was born September 22, 1943 in Rio Grande City and was affectionately known as, "Tio Che". He is preceded in death by his parents, Isidro Guerrero, Sr. and Anastacia Cruz Guerrero; brother Rene Guerrero and sister Sylvia Diaz. Jose is survived by his wife of 34 years, Maria A. Guerrero; two sons, Isidro Guerrero, Joe C. Guerrero, Jr. and daughter, Martha N. Guerrero; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Two brothers and five sisters; Maria Del Refugio Garza, Arcadia Rodriguez, Delia Guerrero, Elma Cisneros, Martha Olivas, Isidro Guerrero, Jr. and Juan Guerrero. Jose was a retired employee of McAllen Pest Control and Dickies Manufacturing. Visitation will be held today, Thursday, May 01, 2014 from 11:00am to 9:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00pm at Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City. His Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 am, Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Old Rio Grande City Cemetery. "Father, thank you for your strength. I will always remember your smile, jokes and the love you had for your lawn, I will forever hold you in my heart. I love you dad", Isidro.

Sanchez Funeral Home of Rio Grande City will be in charge of his funeral services.
