Humberto Saenz Jr.

Roma - Los Saenz, Texas- Humberto Saenz Jr., born on August 10, 1956, passed away on February 4, 2025. He was 68 years old. 

Humberto was a lifelong resident of Roma-Los Saenz, Texas. He dedicated his life to serving his community. Humberto worked at The Starr County Appraisal District as an Appraiser and later Chief Appraiser. He retired after 31 years of service. He also served as a Roma ISD board member for 11 years.

Humberto is survived by his wife of 47 years, Yvonne M. Saenz, son Humberto Saenz III, daughter Vannesa M. Elizondo, son-in-law Sandalio Elizondo, granddaughter Isabella M. Elizondo, grandsonSandalio Elizondo Jr., and siblings Ninfa Regina Garza, Jose Noel Saenz, Imelda Garza, Roberto Saenz, Luis Saenz. 

Humberto is preceded in death by his father, Humberto I. Saenz, and his mother, Ninfa P. Saenz. 

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Humberto will be held Friday, February 7, 2025, at Sanchez Funeral Home in Roma Texas. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Holy Rosary will be recited from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Visitation on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, followed by Mass at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Roma, Texas from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. 

Humberto embodied a life well-lived. Through his love for hunting, barbecuing, and most of all spending time with friends and family, he enriched his surroundings with his presence. Humberto’s life was a testament to the power of charisma, dedication, and infinite love. Although he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit lives on in the memories he created and the lives he enriched.
