Hector Gonzalez

Hector Pablo Gonzalez, age 87, passed away at the Starr County Memorial Hospital on August 23, 2021.
Born in Rio Grande City, Texas to parents Julian Jr. and Librada Gonzalez, Hector was the youngest of eleven children, all preceded in death. He is survived by his wife Dora G. Gonzalez of 60 years and five
children, Belinda (Alfonso) Trevino, Hector P. (Norma) Gonzalez, Jr., Victor (Dalinda) Gonzalez, Eli (Maribel) Gonzalez, & Regino (Yesenia) Gonzalez. Hector is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Vanessa Lei, Andy, Aissa, Pedro Alfonso Jr, Eddie, Denise, Cecilia, Ariana, Marina, and Sofia.
Hector lived his whole life in Rio Grande City where he attended school, graduate in 1952. He also
attended Pan American College. He retired from the Texas Dept of Agriculture (quarantine station) after 30 years. He dedicated his life to his family and ranching. He loved music, singing, dancing, and playing the guitar. Hector played the baritone during high school and college. He was an avid hunter and loved all things wildlife. Hector lived his life to the fullest until his final day. He has now rejoined his parents, siblings, cousins, and nephews in heaven, and will be missed.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 26th from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, with Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Sanchez
Funeral Home in Rio Grande City, Texas. The funeral mass will be on Friday, August 27th at 10:00 am followed by the burial at Rio Grande City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hector Gonzalez, Jr., Eli Gonzalez, Regino Gonzalez, Pedro Alfonso Trevino, Pedro Alfonso Trevino, Jr., Julian Gonzalez, and Abel Eduardo
Gonzalez.
