Graciela Ibarra Rodríguez

December 18, 1960 — October 24, 2024

It is with profound sadness and love that we share that our mother, Graciela “Chelita” Ibarra Rodriguez, 63, has passed, finding peace after a courageous and inspiring journey. In her final days, she journeyed peacefully, surrounded by love and comfort and left us on October 24, 2024. Born on December 18, 1960 in Durango, Mexico, Chelita was the daughter of Prisciliana Rodriguez and Juan Ibarra Pineda (♰).

Our mother held many roles in her life. She was a daughter, sister, friend, confidant, worker, and mother, cherished for her contagious smile, kind spirit, bravery, strength, entrepreneurial spirit, and resilience. She is survived by her four children: Sandra, Juana (Jorge), Maria (Ulises), and Jose; as well as her four grandchildren. She was passionate about gardening, drawing, painting, cooking, embroidery, crocheting, the beach, and going on evening walks.

Our hearts ache, but they’re also filled with gratitude for her incredible legacy—a life overflowing with love, laughter, and boundless strength. She taught us the meaning of bravery, compassion, and perseverance. As we begin to navigate this world without her physical presence, we hold tight to the memories and love she gifted us.

Our mom was a woman who celebrated life, always radiant and smiling. She also loved flowers. One of her final wishes was that just like the flowers, everyone wear vibrant colors at her funeral. We invite you to join us in honoring her by wearing vibrant colors or any color that reminds you of her.

For those that cannot attend, please keep our mother, Graciela, and our family in your thoughts and prayers

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to our mom’s GoFundMe to help cover outstanding medical bills and funeral costs.
