Federico Salazar Jr, age 79, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024, while surrounded by his wife and daughter. He will be deeply missed by all his close friends and family.
Federico was born on January 22, 1945, in Agua Dulce Ranch, where he spent his formative years. He graduated high school from Roma ISD and later attended Pan American University. In 1973 he became a welding instructor at Edcouch Elsa High School and retired after 28 years of service. Throughout his career, he was known for his dedication to teaching his students.
After retiring as an educator, his hobbies included ranching, volunteering at church, and singing in the church choir. He was known for his witty sense of humor and his love of music; especially singing with his nephew, Bobby Salazar.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria G. Salazar, his daughter, Marina Salazar, and his grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Carmen S. Salinas, Irma Cisneros, and Amalia Yunes. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends.
A mass will be held on September 25th at 10:00 am at The Holy Family Church in Los Saenz, Texas, with burial to follow at Los Saenz Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests the dedication of a mass in his honor or that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America https://alzfdn.org/?s=donations.
