FRANCISCO GARCIA GOMEZ

Francisco “Paco” Gomez passed away on October 1, 2022.

Paco was born in Rio Grande City on June 26, 1938 to Enrique and Paula Garcia. He is preceded in death by his parents Enrique and Paula Garcia, loved and raised by Felipe and Ignacia Gomez, his son Francisco “Pancho” Gomez, Jr., his brothers Enrique and Roel Garcia, his brothers Felipe Jr., Gustavo and Javier Gomez.

Survived by his wife Dolores “Lolita” Solis Gomez of 64 years, his daughters Norma Gomez Fultz, Sandra Gomez Cerda (Juan), Dolores Gomez, and his son Roel Ruben Gomez (Rosita). His grandchildren Neil Thaler, Adam Fultz, Frank Fultz, Ciera Cerda and Diego Roel Gomez. His Great Grandchildren Serena Thaler, Tamaree Duncan and Farrah Fultz. His great-great grandchild Namari Duncan. His brothers Efrain Garcia (Irma), Ruben Garcia (Eva), Jose Adan Garcia (Enriqueta) and sister-in-laws Maria Dolores"Cha Cha" Garcia and Diana Gomez. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Paco worked most of his life in the Cotton Gin and Grain Elevator industry. He loved his children and family encouraged and supported them in their education, careers and various activities.  He was a devout Catholic attended mass every Sunday and prayed the Divine Mercy with his wife Lolita every day.

The Garcia-Gomez Solis family would like to thank all family and friends who were part of Paco’s life.

Visitation will be on Friday 10/07/2022 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Rosary starting at 6:30pm. Funeral mass will be at Immaculate Conception Church in Rio Grande City, TX at 10:00 am on Saturday, 10/08/2022. Burial services will follow at the Rio Grande County Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Sanchez Funeral Home at 301 E. Second St, Rio Grande City, TX 77582
