Elizandro Vela

Elizandro Vela, 88, from La Casita, Texas passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, February 11, 2021. He was surrounded by his loving family.  Elizandro was born May 4, 1932, in Rio Grande City to Celestino Vela and Marcela Lopez Vela. He was a devoted husband and father who always put his family and others first. Elizandro loved playing his guitar and writing his own songs. As a father, he was an exemplary role model instilling in his children good moral values, respect, dependability, and a strong work ethic.  

Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 65 years Azucena B. Vela; eight children; Ermelinda (Roberto) Garcia, Hilda (Juan) Escobar, Hesiquio (Andrea) Vela, Maria Guadalupe (Leo) Guerrero, Erminia (Juan) Becerra, Irma (Eduardo) Gorena, Eligio Vela, Celestino (Jessica) Vela; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren who loved their grandpa with all their hearts.
