Dora E. Garza

RIO GRANDE CITY - 

Dora Elia Garza joined God and all his angels on July 16th, 2018, after many years of battling cancer.  She is survived by her husband, Luis Fernando Garza, and her sons, Roberto Luis Garza and Gerardo Omar Garza, and by her mother, Dora Peña-Olivarez.  She is preceded in death by her father, Edelmiro “Capiro” Olivarez, Sr.  She lived a full life in service of others in the Rio Grande City community where she lived for all 58 of her years. Ms. Garza played a significant role in Rio Grande City, helping her husband run his successful gas station, L.F. Garza Exxon.  While there, she made many lifelong friends and brightened the lives of all those who came in contact with her.  Her quick wit and natural sense of comedy provided her with a variety of funny quips, which endeared her to all of those who visited the shop where she worked. 

Visitation will start today, Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm, with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm.  Her Funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 19, at 10:00 am, Immaculate Conception Church in Rio Grande City.  All funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sanchez Funeral Home, Rio Grande City, TX.
