Brigido "Bric" Gonzalez

Roma, Texas Brigido Gonzalez, "Bric", passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Jesus (Ofelia) Gonzalez and Baudelio Gonzalez.




He was born on October 8, 1936 in Roma, TX to Faustino and Candelaria Gonzalez. He graduated from Roma High School and became a licensed barber. He joined the U.S. Army as a PFC and was deployed to Germany where he served his term as member of the Military Police until his time was completed when he received an honorable discharge. He was again recalled to military duty during the Berlin Wall Crisis (1961-1962) and the 49th Armored Division, Texas Army Reserved National Guard was activated in Fort Polk, LA.




After his 2nd discharge, he moved to Port Lavaca, TX, establishing his own Barber Shop. He was a Roman Catholic and a member of K.C. He retired in Roma (Garceno), TX.




He is survived by his son, Jaime (Cindy) Gonzalez of Goliad, TX and daughter, Graciela Gonzalez of Roma, Texas, stepdaughter, Patricia Leal Moreno, stepsons, Paul (Lori) Leal, Jr. Adrian Leal, Mike Leal; sisters, Santos Perez of Roma, TX and Maria Eloisa Alvarado of Victoria, TX; brothers, Flavio Gonzalez (Santos) of Palacios, TX, and Juan (Diana) Gonzalez of Port Lavaca, TX, a sister-in-law, Panita Gonzalez of Roma, TX; Four grandsons, a great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.










Viewing will begin Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and a rosary at 7 p.m. at Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home in Roma, TX. Mass will be at 10 a.m. on July 11, 2014 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Escobares. Burial will follow at Roma City Cemetery. Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home of Roma is in charge of arrangements.
