Berta T. Venecia 84, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2014 at her residence in Alto Bonito, TX. Born in La Grulla, TX on September 28, 1930, she is preceded in death by her husband Eliseo Venecia her parents Jose Angel and Rita Trevino; sisters Arcadia T. Montelongo and Noemi T. Garcia and great grandson Rylan Wyatt McCord. She is survived by her children Eliseo Jr. (Estela) Venecia, Guillermo (Barbara) Venecia, Olga (Michael) McCord, Leticia (Homero Jr.) Salmon, Daniel (Noemi) Venecia, Rosario (Manuel Jr.+) Benavidez and Laura (Juan) Garcia; sister Armandina Solis and brother Santos Trevino. She was a loving grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Berta was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a strong, hardworking and very well respected woman who touched many hearts. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning her house, tending to her plants and family barbecues. The holidays will never be the same without her, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family wants to give a special thanks to Aida Cantu and to the staff at Gentiva Hospice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City, TX.
