Antoniette V. Gonzalez

Antoniette Villarreal Gonzalez, 83, entered into eternal peace on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Grand Terrace Rehabilitation Center in McAllen, Texas.
Born in Rio Grande City, Texas, on January 23, 1930, to the late Armando and Apolina Villarreal. Antoniette, most commonly referred to as "Toñita," was an active member in her parish, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Rio Grande City. She devoted her life to serving the Lord and helping others. Antoniette graduated from the University of Texas Pan American with her Bachelor and Masters degrees in Education. She retired from Rio Grande City ISD in 2001 after 25 years of teaching Kindergarten. One of her favorite pastimes was gathering with her closest friends whom she referred to as "Las Comadres de Rio Grande City."
Her loving husband of 31 years, Abraham Gonzalez Jr., preceded Antoniette in death along with her brothers Jorge Villarreal, Jesus Villarreal, Manuel Villarreal, and Apolonio Villarreal, and cousin Brigida Villarreal.
Antoniette is survived by her three children Jose Luis Gonzalez (Eva) of Pharr, Texas; Abraham (Lamar) Gonzalez III of Roma, Texas; Lillie Marie Galloso of Sharyland, Texas; and five grandchildren Stefanie Gonzalez-Lopez (Carlos), Theresa Gonzalez, Milton Galloso, Jr., Isabella Gonzalez, Abraham IV, her two sisters Maria Hilaria Trevino and Maria Gomez, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Viewing will began from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m., at Sanchez Funeral Home, 301 E. 2nd Street in Rio Grande City, Texas on Sunday, September 29, 2013. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Rio Grande City Cemetery.
