Angelica A. Lopez 82, entered eternal life with our glorious God on February 12, 2019. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 23, 1936 in Rio Grande City to the late Jose and Hilaria Alaniz.

Angelica was a long time resident of Rio Grande City where she was a pillar of the community. Angelica was a passionate member of The Immaculate Conception Church where her love for the parish gave her strength and dedication to be a church reader, Eucharist Minister, and for 23 years visited "La Retama" residents providing them with communion services.

Angelica was a proud member of La Vela Perpetua, Sagrado Corazon, Catholic Daughters of America, and Woodmen Life group.

Angelica is preceded in death by her beloved children Rodolfo Carlos and Eduardo (Eddie) Lopez.

Left to cherish her memories are the love of her life, Encarnacion “Chon” Lopez Sr., her husband of 65 years, her children Encarnacion Jr. (Leticia), Elda Rosa Lopez, Estela Lucio (Rudolfo),  Eduardo† (Angela) and Rosa Arriaga (Oliver), grandchildren: Karina Lucio, Erica Lopez, Andy Lucio, Steven Paul Lopez, Alyssa Lucio, Amanda Lucio, Robert Arriaga and Michael Arriaga.

The family would like to thank  Dr. Luis Arango for the constant care given to Angelica A. Lopez. Also to the medical staff from The Village Rehabilitation Center and the many doctors & nurses from The Rio Grande Regional Hospital for their compassion and excellent care.

Visitations will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary at Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City.

Pallbearers are Rudolfo Lucio, Arturo Lopez, Oliver Arriaga, Jaime Alaniz, Andres Lucio, and Andres Cortez. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Rio Grande City. Burial follows at the City Cemetery.
