Alonso Cantu

Alonso Cantu Vera, 77 went peacefully with the Lord with his loving wife by his side at the comfort of his home on Friday, December 10, 2021.
Alonso Cantu Vera was born on October 30, 1944 in General Bravo, Nuevo Leon. His parents were Feliciano Cantu (+) and Aurora Vera (+)
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Maria del Socorro Blanco, Jose Guadalupe, and Ruben Cantu Vera.
He is survived by his wife Maria Dolores Cantu, children Beatriz (Jose) Solis, Jose ( Susana) Cantu, Alonzo (Mimi) Cantu and Miguel (Jessica) Cantu. Grandchildren Jose Solis III, Nadalie Solis, Emily Solis, Venessa Cantu, Jose Cantu Jr., Jacob Cantu, Jacob Andrew Cantu, Vicente Romero, Grace Romero, and Juan Ramirez. Great-Grandchildren Trey Romero, Catalina Romero, and Levi Cavazos.
Alonso enjoyed spending time with his family, billiards, slot machines, and scratch tickets.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, from 1:00 pm-8:00 pm with Pastoral Service at 6:30 pm-7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am- 10:00 am. Burial Service will follow at Domingo Alvarez Cemetery on 755 FM, about 16 miles north of Rio Grande City. Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
