Alma Rosa Garcia entered into eternal life on Monday, June 23, 2014. She was born to Oscar and Elva (Gilma) Garcia on October 22, 1959 and was raised in Roma, Texas. She enjoyed traveling and cooking for friends and family. She was a devout Christian and active member of the Iglesia El Camino, La Verdad, y La Vida in Falcon Heights, TX, where she has participated in fundraising events, volunteered at church activities such as summer camps, and has served as a Sunday school teacher in the past.

Alma is a graduate of Roma High School Class of 1979 and attended Pan American University. She was employed by Roma ISD for over fifteen years as a head start teacher and as an instructional assistant at Roma Middle School.

She is survived by her parents Oscar and Elva (Gilma) Garcia; 5 siblings Araceli Garcia (Jose Heberto) , Sylvia Garcia (late Roberto ), Anabel Gutierrez (Felipe), Cynthia, and Oscar Jr. Also, surviving are 7 nieces and nephews (Roberto Jr., Jose Heberto Jr., Sashelly, Albert, Arlene, Felipe Jr., and Ryan Ovidio).

Visitation started Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and will continue today, starting at 10 a.m. The funeral services will be celebrated at 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at El Camino, La Verdad, y La Vida in Falcon Heights, TX. With the interment to follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Roma, Texas. Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home of Roma, Texas will be in charge of her funeral services.
